Despite the miserable February weather last night, nothing could stop these music stars strutting their stuff on the red carpet in their finest attire for the Brit Awards 2013, at London’s O2 Arena.
Although I was unable to watch it, I managed to catch up with the important parts (like what people were wearing!) via Vogue and DigitalSpy.co.uk. And without further ado, here are my favorite looks of the evening..
Truly bringing glamour to the Brits red carpet, I am absolutely wowed by Rebecca Furguson! She looked sexy AF in this black gown with a beaded sheer bodice. J-J-J-Jessie J looked positively elegant in Versace A/W 2013/2014 gown with Jimmy Choo heels and vintage Susan Caplan jewellery. Not too crazy about the crazy hair, but what should I expect from Paloma Faith? However, I was totally crazy about her Dolce and Gabbana bejewelled dress! the vibrant colours added a fun element
I’m a sucker for a colourful suit, so of course I had to mention Labrinth! The singer-songwriter/producer wore dapper Dent de Man slim fit suit. The traditional tailoring and African print truly embodied Labrinth himself, embracing his culture and all - love it!. Grimshaw looked wonderfully disheveled in a Thom Sweeney suit, teamed with a Gucci shirt and Mr Hare shoes. And finally, Rizzle Kicks cleaned up well last night! Jordan wears a grey three-piece suit with a white shirt, matching grey tie and a pair of white statement shoes whilst Harley kept it simple with a darky navy suit, white buttoned shirt and a stylish hat.

Mensday Wednesday | Javid Rezai
What had drawn me to this outfit, was the use of the clutch. Personally, I’ve never seen it done but I think it’s an amazing idea. Javid opted for a black leather clutch, with black studs to create a simplistic but edgy, finish. Teamed with leather gloves, black boots, slim fit jeans and a chunky knit scarf, Javid updated this winter trench coat look ever so slightly, but proved to be very effective.
After taking this picture, I got the pleasure to get to talking with Javid! he was super friendly, down to Earth and quite inspirational. Writing for Mensfashionmagazine.co.uk and Globalcool.org whilst studying, Javid gave me some great advice, it was such a blessing to meet him. Follow Javid on Twitter for updates on his latest articles, he’s an amazing writer!
Why don’t you try and experiment with a clutch in your next outfit?
A/W 12 Trends: Polo Necks
Thanks to the likes of Prada, Jil Sander and Lanvin, the underrated Polo neck has made a strong comeback this season! In Prada’s A/W12 show, majority of the models were wearing Polo necks, as well as the models in Lanvin’s show last year. Fortunately, the high street have caught up with this and are offering affordable Polo necks, perfect to channel a Prada look this Autumn/Winter.
For a formal/smart or work wear outfit, wear your Polo neck, underneath a crisp white, shirt with the top button undone - it’s stylish and daring and oh so deliciously preppy or alternatively, to add some masculinity to a very metropolitan look, wear a chunky knit Polo neck jumper with a pair of rugged denim jeans and boots.
Polo necks are available from most high street retailers as well as ASOS.com, but they have a very limited range, however - after doing a bit of research I saw new Polo Necks, for £7 each on Ebay! There is potential for a lot of amazing finds on Ebay, so check it out!
Men’s AW12 Trends: The Parka Jacket
Seen on the runways of Calvin Klein and DSquared2, I think Parka Jackets are underrated in the fashion world. Pairing parkas with sharp suits for a bit of contrast, or just casually thrown over some jeans and tee for an everyday look, the Parka Jacket is practical and versatile, no matter what look you’re going for, as well as really handy for those chilly days in London.. which is nearly all the time…
Nowadays, the high street are starting to provide an awesome range of high quality and affordable Parka jackets, from the traditional khaki versions to heavy duty styles with fur lined hoods, you’re spoilt for choice! Check out stores like ASOS & TOPMAN for the perfect parka!
